Whether Microservices is an architectural pattern that seems right from a conceptual perspective for a new solution architecture or your team has bifurcated development lifecycles of services and it simply has become a SecDevOps management issue to coordinate the release of changes to production, this talk looks at common antipatterns that are driving the evolution of psuedo Restful APIs to edge and core Microservices architectures.   Edge Microservices for example may be limited to DMZ services such as Identity and Access Control using a combination of token and hashing protocols, and even the transformation of tokens such as OAuth Bearer tokens or signed nonced HMAC tokens on the edge to a SAML legacy SOAP service or to a JWT token for federated integration with a 3rd party service.  The documentation of Microservices should also not be an afterthought as code annotations have fallen out of fashion as declarative service descriptor languages and tools have improved.  What was once a WSDL XML descriptor with SOAP UI to generate a mock service may have evolved to a WADL, or RAML or Swagger 1.1 JSON document for the previous iteration of your pragmatic approach towards a RESTful API.  Many are also starting to use Swagger 2.0 with YAML descriptors and code generation for prototyping and interactive documentation with Swagger Editor and Swagger UI.
